Mandarin Oriental Jnan Rahma is majestically set in the famed
Palmeraie region of Marrakech – a timeless desert oasis of palms and olive trees that
benefits from the sun blessed climate, bordering the dramatic foothills of the awe-inspiring
Atlas mountains chain.
“Creating spaces and wonderful contrast like a beautiful painting” is the vision of
Stuart Church, the architect of the Mandarin Oriental Jnan Rahma, Marrakech.
Church trained as an artist in Italy, but settled in Tangiers in 1960 since then he has
expanded into architecture and has created some of the most palatial homes in Morocco.
A renowned “Orientalist” he has been inspired by the noble Berber Kasbahs, the richness
of Indian pageantry, the splendour of Ottoman architecture and exotic Thai influence,
all of which has culminated in the lavish Mandarin Oriental Jnan Rahma, Marrakech.
Both Church and Jouad Kadiri, property owner and developer, are involved in every aspect of
design including furniture, lighting and landscaping. They are meticulous in seeking out
the local artisans who are skilled in traditional techniques.
Mandarin Oriental Jnan Rahma, Marrakech has been meticulously crafted with a vivid blend
of Moroccan, Indian and Asian themes that unfold from magnificently gilded palace to its
exclusive Riads that beholds spacious guestrooms and verandas.
